Spring Line Design Architecture + Engineering, a NYS Certified Woman Owned Business (WBE), was founded by architect Kristin Knickerbocker in 2000. SLD serves clients in the New York State "Tech Valley" region including Albany, Schenectady, Troy, and Saratoga; throughout upstate New York State, and Massachusetts. Since we are an integrated architectural design and structural engineering firm, we are able to provide efficient and cost effective design solutions to fulfill the needs of our clients. While our clients often initially hire us because of our built-in efficiencies, they return because of our philosophy, our process, our experience and our team.

 Our Process

  • Collect all data relevant to the proposed project including scope, schedule, budget and existing documentation

  • Investigate existing conditions by visiting the site, creating a photographic record and preparing existing conditions drawings

  • Prepare a preliminary code / regulation analysis

  • Meet with client and end users to review data determined by investigations and code analysis

  • Finalize scope, budget and schedule with client

  • Create simple yet elegant, practical, constructible and functional design
